  • The Best of the Best of the Best [Munch] - 10:58 pm BDT

I've been a little out of it but here's an interesting Tournament that's still open for registration.

The premise of this tournement is to see how well you handle yourself, your team, and your troops in an allout WAR! The very first map that this series will test is Ground Zero (light). The entire first tournament will consist entirely of games on Ground Zero. This tournament is to decide who has the right to brag that they are "THE BEST ON GZ". Each round of a tournament will consist of 5 games. For the Ground Zero Tournament, Game 1 will be Territories, game 2 will be Last Man on the Hill, and Game 3 will be Flag Rally, game 4 is Capture the Flag, game 5 is Steal the Bacon. Each of these games tests a diffrent facet of your skills and abilities. Good Luck!

There's an individual and an order circuit for this tournament each BNTC certified with prizes to boot. Web site here.

As a random side note, look at the top image with the armies charging in from the different sides. The one form the bottom right with the 'zerks and the Trow, that's me.....

  • Demolition [Munch] - 10:58 pm BDT

OK, we got your 100 player limit that began registering on the 18th. It's an individual 'non-BC' tournament. It's already accepted into the BNTC so check it out here. Play begins July 27th.

As a side note, do you realize that Mr. Holt's ICQ is 13678302? 13 million?

  • The End of Summer [Munch] - 10:53 pm BDT

There's a certain feeling in the air... It's the End of Summer. A new 64 player individual tournament slated to start on August 8th and conclude over labor day weekend. Just waiting for the Bungie Men to approve... Meanwhile, check it out.

  • The Countdown Has Begun [Munch] - 10:49 pm BDT

I'm a little late on this one, but here goes anyway....

Registration has been closed for the Countdwon Tournament. Game play starts with the first Tier round on Saturday July 18, 1998. We have a list of Alternates already. The alternate teams will be on-call if a registered team cannot make their game (and contacts us in advance) or is disqualified for a reason prior to playing the first game. If you have any questions please visit the tournament website at http://www.mythcodex.com/ and be sure to read the FAQ, rules, and information section to be kept up to date.

  • Back-ish - [Munch] - 10:49 pm BDT

Munch is here for a rather short span. I'll be in and out until Thursday....

  • Wednesday, July 14th

  • The Graveyard - [Case] - 10:34 am BDT

Light Lord, in a light-hearted message, enlightened me about the new Tournament of Light, hosted by the Crusaders of Light. It is a team tournament, and we'll have more information as it comes to light...Ite. Fruimini. Redite.

  • The Graveyard - [Munch] - 10:34 am BDT

OK, I lied, I'm still here for one more post...Just saying that Guile Graveyard has been postponed due to too few entrants and also the release of 1.3. Expect the tournament to be resurrected after 1.3 has been released (along with many others)....

  • New and Improved - [Munch] - 1:24 am BDT

Well, here's a little bit of info you might want to glance at. We've got a nifty little page here with the results from most of the tournaments that have occured. Check it out.

  • Dirty Half-Dozen - [Munch] - 1:24 am BDT

The Countdown Tournament has about 6 spots left open so apply today if you are still sitting on that fence. This should be a good one.

  • A Call to Arms - [Munch] - 1:24 am BDT

    From the Forum:

I'm looking for people with fast (ISDN or T1-class) connections to help me host the Shakedown semi-finals. I will do all the time scheduling, I just need you to turn up for 2-3 hours and watch a series of games played with mind-numbing skill.

    I need two people.

Please help me out if you can.

    - Butcher

  • I'm Outtie - [Munch] - 1:24 am BDT

Well, I'm called out of town for a couple of days to counsel a bunch of middle/high school kids at a camp. Course it's triple digit temperatures here in Houston so this should be fun save the heat exhaustion.... So please direct posts to Case until Sunday when I'll return to you my little love-muffins.

  • Monday, July 13th

  • Save Some of That for the Sequel - [Munch] - 10:56 pm BDT

The Corporate Shakedown Round 4 is complete.

    Those advancing to the semi-finals:

    Boblet
    Danteshade
    Frog In A Box
    Golem
    Lord of the Bobs
    Malkavian
    Mundrid
    Panamon
    Papascrub
    Pythos
    Ramses II
    Sven

Brackets are up on the web page, and the games will be announced soon.

If any of you have suggestions for games that should be played in Round 5, now is the time to make them (i.e. in the next 24 hours), before they're set in stone.

    - Butcher

  • DC - [Munch] - 10:56 pm BDT

Well, Carch posted in the forum (apologies to Lord of the Bobs) that the Dwarven Cannibals Tournament has begun. Do or do not, there is no try.

  • The Light - [Munch] - 10:56 pm BDT

The Tournament of Light is almost open for registration. It's pending Bungie's proverbial nodding of the head. Details here.

  • Clarification - [Munch] - 9:52 am BDT

I posted on Friday about the Coutdown Tournament (scroll down to see it) and I said that there were no more new posts after that one. I meant that there were no more new posts for the day of any sort. It was an attempt to be user friendly (keeping people from having to scroll down) which went a little awry by my choice of words/phrasing. I apologize to 4dc and anyone who took my words to mean that I wouldn't post anything else ont he Countdown Tournament. This site is a very public place for ANYONE who is interested in hosting/joining a tournament and will always remain that way.

    - Munch

  • It's Over Now - [Munch] - 9:52 am BDT

Well, you've probably read it ont he main news page, but here goes, straight from Taft:

That's right! The Knights of Eblis Myth Tournament is finally over (the first one)! Here are the top 5 finishers:

    1. The Wight Foundation/DoH
    2. Dwarven Cannibals
    3. Foundation
    4. (tie) Clan Plaid/Civil Order

Congratulations to these orders, and many many thanks to all the great orders who participated. We will have films posted soon (remember to send in your films, top 5 orders!) on our web site and on clan plaid's hotline site.

TWF fought a strong battle throughout the entire tournament. They were tied for the lead with the skilled Dwarven Cannibals as the final games of the tourney neared, but TWF overcame DC's onslaught to stand at the top of the heap. (Partially due to a DC member who'd had one to many Dwarven Ales...heh). Their valiant effort in this, the *LONGEST* of any myth tourney ever, should never be forgotten!

It takes quite an order to manage to do this, and we at KofE salute [all the great TWF players].

  • Be My Friend - [Munch] - 9:52 am BDT

    From the Tournament Forum:

The Companions would like to announce that they are going to host another great tournament. Registration will be open on July 18-July 26. We are creating a tournament series whose purpose is to find out who is really the best on all the maps. If you play and win, you can honestly say that you are truly "The BEST at that particular map" The first map played in the Series will be on Ground Zero. I would encourage everyone to come sign up b/c it will be lots of fun. This is a tournament that has seperate brackets for both orders and individuals (you are welcome to enter both). The reason it is a dual tournament is b/c everyone wants to know who is the best person on the map, as well as what the best order is. Come check us out! Gore ~C~

  • Fire me Up - [Munch] - 10:08 pm BDT

  • PlatWars Round 3 Stuff - [Ferrex] - 8:45 pm BDT

Bungie has posted, on it's nicely segregated Mac and PC pages, more information on the third PlatWars round. If you've advanced to Round 3, or you think you have, swing by and take a looksee, or you might miss out.

If you've come this far, no point in losing out just because you didn't see if you were playing or not, no?

  • Guile Graveyard PR - [Muncher] - 10:10 am BDT

Making amends to BodySnatcher. I had posted about the Guile Graveyard on this page a while ago but never put the link in the top table. So, I'm going to re-post about it with the top links up to date (as for as I know.....)

The Guile Graveyard Tournament is a tournament unlike any other. It will feature a new net map created by Pryo and I (BodySnatcher), for the final round. This will test your true myth war skills, on unfamiliar terrain, just like playing a solo level. Another new feature, is that it will feature scripting. Now go and ponder in your shrunken brains the connection between guile, and scripting........got it?

For more information go to http://www.mythcodex.com/ or try the VR site.

  • Men are from Rohan - [Muncher] - 10:19 am BDT

MoR posted this in the forum:

Captains of Orders involved in the Men of Rohan Tournament need to contact their enemies this week, we start the tourney the week of July 6th... thats next week. You have until July 12th to get your battles in.

  • A Plague if you will - [Muncher] - 10:23 am BDT

Since their incarnation, tournaments have been marred by scheduling problems. People get dumped, can't make it, don't show up, get busy. The Platform Wars is no different. After hearing about a virtual lockout yesterday, I think this needs to be posted. On the news page, they said Round 2 has been rescheduled for tonight. That tonight at 8:00 pm BST. If you can't make it, email tournaments@bungie.com and get yourself into the make up bracket. For that matter, if you miss games because of connect problems or dropping, email them.

As a side note, bungie announces separate tournament news pages.

  • Countdown Tournament PR - [Ferrex] - 4:40 pm BDT

CyberVox sent this in earlier today, regarding a new and quite spiffy looking tourney:

    Greetings!

This is the official announcement for the Countdown Tournament hosted by 4dc. This tournament is a strictly body count only tournament that has openings for 32 teams. The contest is open to only registered Myth Orders. Teams are limited to 3-5 participants. Orders may submit multiple team applications.

There are four initial rounds for the competition and one final round that consists of a team on team fight. All games are one team versus another team. Games may be played on Bungie.net (ranked or unranked) or via TCPIP.

The Countdown Tournament is sponsored by 4dc, Bungie and Griffin Technology. It is an official Bungie Order Tournament circuit participant. The prizes so far range from music cds to gift certificates to NE 3D kits! More sponsors are pending.

Registration opens on Friday July 3, 1998 and will continue through Thursday July 16, 1998. Tournament play begins on Friday July 17, 1998 and will continue for the next five weeks.

For more indepth information please visit the official tournament website at http://www.mythcodex.com/. You will find all of the official rules, frequently asked questions and instructions, a message board for communication, a graphical brackets listing, the latest news on the tournament and the official application!

Come join the fun and help determine which order is the best bloodletter of them all!

That's right-- all BC. It's not so bad, though. Any well rounded player (which I am not) has some experience in Body Count, and a truly outstanding player can prevail in any game. Don't let the game type turn you off... there are some nice prizes, and this is looking to be a sweet tourney,
